It seems that it takes me about a month to set my goals for the year.  This year I am going to be reviewing a few of last years goals to see what areas that I still need to work on!  I think that I did pretty good with my photography goals, but with my personal goals… Not so much.

Blog 2 times a week (I did great until June)

Shoot 8 weddings as a primary shooter  (Yes!  I shot 10 last year!)

Shoot 8 weddings as a second shooter  (Yes!  I shot 8 last year!)

Book 2 other shoots a month (Yes!  Families, Seniors, and Newborns kept me so busy!)

Expand my knowledge of On and Off Camera Flash (I did start implementing off camera flash during the reception.  I still have a lot to learn!)

Sell Prints and albums to my clients – help them understand the importance of a print!  (I unfortunately did not explain the importance of prints to my clients this past year)

Read 1 business book every 3 months (I did not get a chance to read even one)

Keep track of my accounting records once a month – Expenses, Income, Mileage, and Tax! (I stopped in January of last year.  NEVER AGAIN!)

Book 3 seniors for 2018!  Do you know that I LOVE shooting Seniors?!?  (Yes!  I booked 5!)

Continue to work on SEO (Still a work in Progress!)

Experiment with Film – (I did buy a Film Camera and then it sat on a shelf and collected dust)

Go to a Photography Conference and make contacts in the industry (Yes! Photo Native in Utah and met quite a few other vendors in Lincoln and Omaha!)

Sell my Mark II and get a 6D Camera (DONE!!)

Purchase another MagMod MagSphere Diffuser, a second Light Stand and triggers (DONE!!)

Personal Goals

Get my P&C License (DONE!)

Update my Kitchen – cabinets and flooring (Maybe this year!)

Repaint upstairs and redo flooring upstairs (Maybe this year!)

Get caught up on  scrapbooks – This has been a goal for a few years! (Maybe this year!)

Read a book for fun every 3 months (I sure hope I can do this!)

Create and follow a meal plan – I really need to work on this to help with the budget!  (I didn’t even start this.)

Work out 2 times a week – Yoga, Zumba, Weights, Walking… (We got a dog, maybe this will help.)

Create a budget and follow it – Basically don’t eat out near as much!!  (Ryan and I did pretty good, there is room for improvement.).

Finish Ryan’s “Man Cave” and Office (We got it organized at least!)

Plan an overseas trip for 2017 or 2018 – I just started researching Europe 🙂  (Our trip will be Greece in 2019!

Go to East Coast this fall to a Nascar Race (Hopefully this fall!)

Overall 2017 was great!  I am so proud that I was able to meet quite a few of my Photography goals and learned that I need to take more time to accomplish my personal ones.  This year I have some big plans that I hope will allow some of these to finally get crossed off!

Take a look at this blog post for my 2018 goals 🙂
