On Sunday, April 3rd, Erin and I had all of our hard work finally pay off.  It was the day of our dear friend Julie Williamsen’s Cancer Benefit.  I honestly can’t even count the number of hours that it took to pull of an event like this and I am so blessed to have all the help from my good friend Erin.  We also couldn’t have pulled it off with out the help of Julie’s family also!  Everyone spread the word and picked up so many donations to have at the Benefit.  Hidden Valley Golf Course was so great to work with and the space was perfect!  The food was provided by Beacon Hills and the flowers were provided by Trader Joes.  Lets just say, after this Erin and I could find a job being a florist 🙂   Elite DJ also was such a great help with announcing all the winners from the silent auctions and raffles.  A huge THANK YOU to all of you!!

The Benefit was a huge success in getting awareness to Julie’s rare cancer (Radiation Induced AngioSarcoma) and raising money for Julie’s future medical bills.  I can’t thank the community of Lincoln enough for donating so many great items.  We had numerous gift cards from Local restaurants, tons of baskets, and event tickets.  Each donation helped us hit our goal and then some!  It was a huge blessing and a huge weight lifted off of Julie’s shoulders when she was trying to figure out how to pay for these expensive medical bills.  It is amazing how so many family members and community leaders came out to support her.  She felt so loved and appreciated all the kind words and donations.

An update will be posted on how she is doing soon.  She has been seeking treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.  Prayers are always welcomed through this difficult time!
