As most of you know that my husband Ryan and I love to go out Storm Chasing.  Okay, Okay, maybe more him than I.  I just love capturing the beautiful structure and the lightning -not so much the actual driving through the storms!  I guess that is all part of the experience.  This summer was a bit quiet in the storm chasing season for myself.  Ryan did go out, but when he did it was too far me to travel or I had to work.

One Friday after work, he looked at the models and saw that a storm was “popping” up in the North Platte area.  I decided to go with him.  We made it to North Platte, and then he just kept on driving because by that time the storm had disappeared.  (This has happened A LOT this year!)  We ended up making it all the way out to Sterling, Colorado before hitting some rain.  We stopped, grabbed a quick bite to eat and then headed back towards home.  But not before we saw the most beautiful full double rainbow.  It was one of the coolest things that I have ever seen!!  I also did get some pretty good structure photos, because once we headed for home, it started to build again.  Here are a few photos from one of my storm chasing days this past summer!

Even though we didn’t see any big storm or tornado on this chase, we were able to see God’s work first hand.  This rainbow was magnificent.  I and still so blessed to have been able to spend this time with my husband even though I say ” we drove all the way out to Sterling, Colorado just to see a double rainbow.”  It was the best storm chasing trip 🙂
