5 Things Friday | January

1. Winery

We have been filtering the wine and preparing for our Valentine’s Day weekend festivities!  I am sure it will include a chocolate tasting of some sorts!

2. 2020 Weddings

This year I will only be taking on a handful of weddings.  If you are looking for a photographer, shoot me a message and we can see if we can work something out!

3. NYE Trip

Ryan and I took a mini vacation to Estes Park for the New Year.  We had dinner at a nice restaurant, went back to our cabin for a little nap and slept right through NYE.  Oops, We don’t have the best track record for NYE in Colorado!  Before we came back home, we stayed in Fort Collins and ate at the Waffle Lab.  This was the best part of the trip!  The Chicken and Waffles with rosemary-sage gravy were out of this world!  We also had the Monkey’s Uncle with peanut butter, syrup, bacon and bananas. Both large waffles were devoured!

4. Julie

January was one of the most difficult months that I have been through.  Julie made it through Christmas in good spirits and somewhat good health.  She was put on Hospice at the beginning of December.  I spent countless hours with her during this time frame.  Ryan and I decided to go to Colorado because he had been working 24/7.  I knew that Julie was on her final days, but she gave me the biggest hug as we said our goodbyes.  I knew that this was going to be the last time I saw her.  She passed as we were on our way back from Colorado.  I got a text from a good friend right as we were crossing the overpass in Kearney to get back on the interstate.  We celebrated her life as she would have wanted us to.  Not a day goes by that I don’t think of her, or try and send a snapchat or want to hear her voice.  I can’t say it is gotten any easier, but it is a new norm that we have to get used to.  During this time, Ryan had started taking me to a Church in Lincoln.  This has definitely helped the grieving process as I know that she is with our Lord Savior and is no longer hurting.  We have one of the best angles watching over us every day and I will always remember when she taught me.  Life is all about the relationships you create.  People are what should be important in our lives.  I love you Julie♥

5. Extensions

At the end of December, Ryan got me a Christmas present of extensions.  I am loving them so far!! – Update 3/20- I wasn’t able to put them back in because it took out way to much of my hair when removed 🙁
