Ryan and I were married on August 15, 2015.  We were lucky enough to enjoy a few months of traveling the States and the World.  Here is what we call our Pre-Honeymoon trip.  We are both big NASCAR fans so Ryan and I planned a short weekend to Bristol, TN for the race.  Here are a few photos from the trip!

The main reason why we came to Bristol was because of this #24 car.  Jeff Gordon.  It is Ryan’s favorite driver and he brought back his rainbow car.  I’ll admit, it was pretty neat being able to see something for one last time.

Our trip was very short, but since we flew into Charlotte, NC we wanted to make sure and get to the NASCAR Hall of Fame.  The driving experience was the best!  I lost everytime…. good thing i’m not a racecar driver!

He was like a little kid in a candy store!  His favorite driver – Jeff Gordon!

Jeff GordonJeff GordonAfter our Bristol experience, we drove back and stayed in Asheville, NC.  The following morning before we drove back to Charlotte, we toured Biltmore Estate.  This large estate is 8000 acres and the house was built in 1889 by George Washington Vanderbilt II.  Walking through this house was amazing.  The detail that they had put into each room was outstanding.  We did the the audio tour, but had to go through it quicker than what we would have liked.  From the large laundry room, to the servant quarters and their small bedrooms and kitchens downstairs, to the “man cave” with the taxidermy, guns, and billiards, Each had their own little detail to make it realistic to when the Vanderbilt’s lived in it.  The land itself was beautiful – acres and acres of trees and flowers.

We first walked around the gardens.  This is only a small portion of what we saw.  They were so beautiful in color.  A photographers dream!

I am so lucky to have found someone that will allow me to wonder around to all of these places to take detail shots and practice my photography skills.  Also, I am lucky to have to someone that knows how to use my camera so I can be in the photos 🙂

After such a busy wedding week, it was so nice to get away with my new husband.  Our honeymoon will hopefully be posted soon (I am still working on editing the photos!)  Bristol is a beautiful city and I wish to go back again, but to stay for more than a few days!  It was great to be able to check another race track off of our bucket lists.  Bristol Motor Speedway was hot, fast, and memorable!  Just like this first year of marriage!
