Roger and Elsbeth had the perfect day in June for their destination wedding. They were surrounded by friends and family that traveled across land and sea to celebrate their marriage. Family came from Holland and friends came from California to a quaint city in Nebraska called Central City. They had their reception at Prairie Creek Winery, which is a part of Roger’s family. Elsbeth began the morning festivities with her bridesmaids, Carmen and Taylor. Taylor helped with the makeup while Carmen laced up the beautiful Maggie Sottero gown. They popped a bottle of champagne and drank mimosas with mango juice while reliving the memories that have been made the past two years.
Roger and Elsbeth went to the same Church, but different morning services. They both were in the Church Choir, but wasn’t until their Church Choir group traveled to Spain, when they met. Elsbeth and Roger have a love for traveling and became friends immediately. The gold bracelet you seen in the first photo was purchased in Spain on this very trip. She wore it on her right wrist when they got married. I can honestly say that I have never met a couple that exudes more happiness than these two. It was such a blessing to capture their special day for them!
Roger and Elsbeth planned out a beautiful ceremony. Since they are part of their choir back in California, music was very important to them. They sang with four other friends two songs during their ceremony. The Jackson 5 “I’ll be there” and Christina Perri “A Thousand Years.” Elsbeth’s mom walked her down the isle and Roger’s dad did the communion for the guests. Even the wildflowers at the front of the church were picked out especially for the loved ones who are not here with us today. Roger and Elsbeth wrote their own vows, which of course, I teared up at. It was perfect for them.
After a few bridal party photos at Prairie Creek Winery, we came back to the best food and party for Elsbeth and Roger. Prairie Creek Winery completely surprised me with the food and service. Everything was outstanding. From the appetizers like the Spinach Artichoke Dip and Bruschetta to the main course of Salmon and Beef and then to the after hours desserts of Pomegranate Cheesecake and Rueben Sliders.
Elsbeth and Roger’s family members gave the toasts, sang a song made especially for them, and congratulated the newly married couple. They cut the cake and ate the lavender macaroons made by LeCupcake. Roger and Elsbeth shared their first dance to the same song they sang at their Ceremony, “A Thousand Years.” All of their guests joined in the fun and continued to dance the night away.
