April Showers Bring May Flowers and another 5 Things Friday Blog Post!!

1.  Golden Birthday Celebration: Part II

If you read my last 5 Things Post you will know that Birthdays are my favorite thing to celebrate!  So it was a no-brainer when my good friend asked if I wanted to throw ourselves a Party for our Golden Birthdays.  We got a bunch of friends together and went out to eat and then got a party bus and had such a great time.  The best part was that we were able to celebrate 4 Birthday’s that night!!

2. What am I reading?

I have been working on a series called “The Lucky Harbor Series” for a while now and I only have two more left!  I just finished It’s in His Kiss by Jill Shalvis and now I am reading He’s so Fine by Jill Shalvis.  They are super easy reads and just all around cute love stories, which is exactly what I need before bed!  I hope to read  few more business type books this year also  – Starting with You are a Badass: How to stop doubting your greatness and start living an awesome life.  by Jen Sincero

3.  What series I watched on Netflix?

A few weeks ago I finished a series on Netflix called The Kindness DiariesIt is basically about a guy who is traveling the world on a vintage motorbike relying only on the kindness of others for food and shelter.  It was such an inspirational journey and really opened up my eyes to other cultures and was a good reminder to do good.  Always.

4.  Month of April

One thing this year that I have been trying to do in my business and personal life is to reach out to other artists and business owners in my community to meet up for coffee.  I really want to build a safe and welcoming community in Lincoln, NE for photographers or business owners of any kind.  Last year, I had reached out to a fellow photographer on Instagram and we now get together once every few months!  I am also meeting with an event coordinator, a makeup artist and with Nebraska Wedding Day Magazine!  If you are a fellow Business Owner and love Coffee, Wine, or Beer – Let me know!  I would love to meet up!

5.  Personal Project

I decided one sleepless night that it was time to do a little shooting for myself.  I want to challenge myself to see what I can create outside of my comfort zone.  I am putting together an in-home love session.  I need a couple – (married or not) that will welcome me into their home and let me hang out with them for a few hours!  Lets bake, drink, laugh, listen to music and kiss (you of course, not me!)   I am also looking for a couple that wants a love session and loves beer!  I was just recently at a new brewery in Lincoln and want to shoot there!!  Email me at: hello@stacykamler.com if you are interested!!!
