A favorite past time of mine is Storm Chasing.  My husband, Ryan is part of the StormViewLIVE team and chases on a regular basis.  Last year was my first year of really getting into this hobby.  We wanted to be able to capture lighting and structure photos.  This year one of Ryan’s goals was to see more tornados.

Ryan and I decided quickly this night to pack our stuff up and head over to Hampton, NE.  We were not really expecting anything to exciting, but to capture some great lighting that this storm was going to produce.  We parked off the side of a country road and start taking some photos of the structure and then all of a sudden a tornado drops down.  I was so nervous and excited that I just started screaming, “look Ryan and tornado, a tornado!”   “OMG WE NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE and FAST!!”

Ryan started driving away and just as soon as we left, the tornado went back into the sky just as quick as it came down.  This was my first sighting of a tornado (well, I call it a mini-nado) because it didn’t look like it was very strong.  The rest of the night, we were running off of adrenaline.  We saw some huge dust storms that looked more threatening than what they were.  A night chasing near Hampton, NE turned out to be a night that I will never forget!  Take a look at some photos that we were able to capture!
